REGENERATION:
Normal procedure for regenerating an iron filter is usually specific by the filter manufacturer or supplier and depends on water conditions. There are many types, designs, and methongs introducing potassium permanganate to the filter. A normal method is to make a solution and apply automatically or manually to the filter at regular intervals If unsure consult the owner’s manual. NOTE: Do not use in a water softener.
DOSAGE:
For each cubic foot of filter media, 2-4oz. dry Potassium Permanganate is required. It may be added directly to the filter or mixed with water and added as a solution. At 50 degrees fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius) 4 oz. of Potassium Permanganate can dissolve in 1 gallon of water. At room temperature or 72 degrees fahrenheit (22 degrees Celsius) 8 oz. can dissolve in 1 gallon of water.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Stains can be removed from the skin with a dilute solution of sodium bisulfite or lemon juice.
